The WYLD e-scooter is a world-first concept developed by Brisbane-based company Electric Mobility Solutions (EMoS). It looks like a 1960s Easy Rider chopper, but it’s powered by an electric motor. EMoS, in partnership with Springfield City Group, engaged us to develop a public relations campaign and create media content to gain publicity of the official launch.
Our strategy had two main goals – promote the launch of the WYLD at the University of Southern Queensland and position Greater Springfield as a world-leading eco-friendly community. We worked in close collaboration with EMoS, Springfield City Group and their stakeholders to develop key messages, write press releases, capture news-style photography, film and edit a Video News Release and produce a social media news video. We pitched the story to Brisbane-based news media outlets, organised a press conference for journalists to interview key spokespeople and supplied photographs and video via an online portal.
The story received positive coverage state-wide in the Sunday Mail, Courier Mail Online, 7 News Brisbane and Queensland Times. Our campaign achieved its goals as all news outlets covered the official launch of the WYLD, while highlighting Greater Springfield’s potential as an electric motorcycle manufacturing hub.
"The WYLD e-Chopper by EMoS is built for fun. It's a modern incarnation of the 1960s easy rider but powered by an electric motor."
