World number one tennis player Ash Barty was announced as the ambassador for Greater Springfield in March, 2020. Springfield City Group engaged us to develop the public relations strategy for the announcement, which resulted in 17 pieces of coverage reaching more than 134 million potential viewers across television, radio, print and online.
Highlighting the community benefit Ash would bring to the role was at the centre of our campaign. She is an inspiration to young indigenous women and the next generation of aspiring athletes in the Springfield region. Our strategy encompassed key message development, press release writing, a launch plan for editorial, corporate and social media purposes, video content production for broadcast and social media and pitching to our contacts in local and national media.
The story received widespread media interest nationally and locally. News outlets including News.com.au, realestate.com.au, the Courier Mail and the Queensland Times ran the story. For News Corp. it was the most clicked real estate story in Australia for the month of March. Sky News Australia meanwhile created a 90 second news package from the Video News Release we provided.
